The story takes place in Maido Academy in Osaka, where Risa Koizumi (voiced by Akemi Okamura), a “female giant” standing 170 cm tall, is often mocked for her height and gradually takes on the role of a comic relief. Coincidentally, her counterpart, Atsushi Otani (voiced by Akira Nagata), is a “short squash” at only 156 cm tall. The two, one tall and one short, are not enemies but instead become a famous comedic duo on campus through their interactions. In fact, the relationship between Risa and Otani is not bad; they even share a common hobby—both are fans of the “Umibozu.” As they pair up, their relationship grows closer, and with the help of their friends Nobuko Ishihara (voiced by Saori Higashi) and Heikichi Nakao (voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda), they eventually become a couple, creating a legendary tale of campus romance.
