Helen (played by Sigourney Weaver) is a criminal psychological analyst who, over many years of work, has solved numerous serial murder cases with her exceptional reasoning abilities. While gaining a reputation, she has also come under attack from criminals. After being traumatized, Helen decides to stay home, relying on a powerful network to handle both her work and life. Many years pass this way. Recently, a series of murders has left Officer Jenny (played by Holly Hunter) very troubled, and with no options left, she turns to the experienced Helen for help. Various clues indicate that the current case is intricately linked to cases Helen has previously handled. Persuaded by Jenny, Helen decides to step out and uncover the truth behind the events.
