Tomobiki High School is about to welcome a new year of the school festival, with everyone, from teachers to students, busy preparing for this important event. Although there is still one day left for preparations, year after year, the opening ceremony of the school festival has yet to be held. The exhausted teacher Onsen feels something is off; he notices that he and the people around him live the same life every year without noticing anything strange. Onsen shares this thought with Teacher Sakura, and they discuss ordering the students who always hang around the school to go home. However, no matter how they try, Mentou and the others eventually return to the school gate, and the remaining teacher Onsen goes missing. After several days of the same bizarre routine, Mentou, Adan, and others agree to form a truth investigation team with Teacher Sakura, and they all enter the extraordinarily strange time and space of Tomobiki High School... This film is adapted from the original work by manga artist Rumiko Takahashi, and it is the second movie in the series, but director Mamoru Oshii's new interpretation has upset the original author.
