Sanka Rea (voiced by Maaya Uchida) was supposed to be a happy and lively girl, but her father's excessive pampering and restrictions—triggered by her resemblance to her deceased mother—caused her immense pain, leading to her tragic fall from a cliff to her death. Unexpectedly, Rea's death brought about a fateful encounter with a boy named Chihiro Furuya (voiced by Ryohei Kimura). In order to resurrect his beloved cat, the zombie-obsessed Chihiro developed a strange potion and used it on the deceased Rea, resulting in her miraculous rebirth as a zombie. Thus, zombie Rea became an unintentional resident of the Furuya household, and Chihiro began his quest to research a new potion that could help Rea become an ordinary girl again.
