Kurashita Tsukimi (voiced by Kana Hanazawa) is an undeniable otaku, with a particular focus on the rather niche interest of jellyfish. Dreaming of becoming an illustrator, Tsukimi moves to Tokyo and lives in the girls' dormitory, Tenshukukan. The dormitory houses only otaku girls, each with their own unique charms and hobbies. The manager, Chiyoko (voiced by Takamiko Saito), enjoys making dolls; Maya (voiced by Akemi Okamura) is a fan of the Three Kingdoms; Banba is passionate about railways; and Jiji (voiced by Mamiko Noto) has a fixation on middle-aged men… Tenshukukan becomes their little home and paradise. On the other hand, Koibuchi Kuronosuke (voiced by Yatsuki Saito), who comes from a prestigious family but does not want to inherit the family business, dresses in women's clothing and dreams of becoming a fashion designer. The story of an otaku and a cross-dressing man begins… This work is adapted from Akiko Higashimura's manga of the same name, which won the 34th Kodansha Manga Award for the girls' category in 2010.
