The story takes place in Huntington, West Virginia, where the Marshall University football team, a source of pride for the entire town, ranks among the top collegiate teams in the United States. For a long time, the Marshall University football team has become a part of the local history, with the indomitable spirit of generations of players passed down through time and sweat. In 1970, a year that many wish to forget yet cannot, the Marshall University football team was returning home from a game on a plane. Tragically, a horrific plane crash occurred, resulting in the death of all 75 passengers, including players, coaches, and staff. The town was stunned by the news, and a mood of sadness and despair quickly engulfed the community. At this moment, a football coach named Jack (played by Matthew McConaughey) stepped forward. Kind-hearted, he could not bear to see the residents remain in despair and decided to use his strength to continue the legacy of the Marshall University football team.
