Handa Seibou (voiced by Daisuke Ono) is a calligrapher who, at a young age, has already gained recognition and praise in the industry. In an accident, he impulsively punched an elderly man who criticized him, not knowing that this seemingly unimpressive old man was actually the curator of a calligraphy exhibition. Seibou's father harshly reprimands his arrogant son and sends him into exile to the Goto Islands, where he hopes Seibou can rediscover his original intent. At first, the slow-paced life on the island makes Seibou feel uncomfortable, but over time, the innocent and simple islanders help him find meaning in his life. Accompanied by lively seven-year-old Naru (voiced by Ryouko Hara), carefree middle school student Miwa Yamamura (voiced by Nozomi Furuki), and the blond delinquent Kouji Kito (voiced by Kouki Uchiyama), each day for Seibou is filled with the unknown and joy.
