Tally (played by Michelle Pfeiffer) is an ordinary waitress, but she has always had a dream of becoming a news anchor. She wishes so much for her dream to come true, so she sends a tape of her former cheerleading performances to a television station, thinking they wouldn't be interested in her, yet she is willing to try.
