Due to his parents being assigned to work overseas, Aizawa Yuichi (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita) who doesn't want to go with them, stays at his aunt Minase Akiko and her daughter Nagisa's house. After seven years, Yuichi returns to this northern town, which should have been filled with memories, but in reality, he has no recollection at all. In this town, he meets various girls. There’s the always energetic and scatterbrained Tsukimiya Ayu (voiced by Yui Horie); the cooking enthusiast who loves cats, Nagisa (voiced by Mariko Kouda); the girl who has lost her memory and constantly clings to Yuichi, Sawatari Masato (voiced by Mayumi Iizuka); and the quiet junior, Misaka Shiori (voiced by Akira Sato), who is in poor health. Yuichi spends a joyful winter in the northern town with them, gradually recovering the lost memories. Within those lost memories, there are sadness, regrets, and tears... After the passage of time, the pain slowly begins to heal. Winter has passed, and spring is not far away. This film is adapted from the game of the same name by Key. It was produced by Toei Animation and released as an anime in 2002, and it has been remade by Kyoto Animation.
