Terashima Yoshitaro (played by Akira Emoto), who has been running a bedding store for decades, faces the strong impact of cheap goods from large supermarkets in the new century. His store is struggling, and he feels weary of everything around him. One day, a woman unexpectedly walks into Terashima's store, bringing a spark to this somewhat lifeless old man. Her name is Sugita Rieko (played by Machiko Ono), a staff member at a hotel hair salon. She is graceful and elegant, beautiful yet unpretentious. From the moment Yoshitaro sees her, he is deeply enchanted. After that, Yoshitaro visits her, showering her with affection.
