In the backstreets of a bustling area, an ordinary high school student, Nagumi Fujishima (voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), witnesses a sudden event. Soon after, he is taken by his classmate Ayaka to the "Hanamaru Ramen Shop" where she works, and unexpectedly encounters the three "suspicious figures" from that day—Gachinko expert Aze, "military otaku" Major, and the handsome Hiro-kun, who call themselves "NEET detectives." Just when Nagumi is confused, he inadvertently arrives at the "NEET Detective Agency" and meets a peculiar girl, Alice (voiced by Yuiko Ohsumi). Though Alice seems like a recluse who never leaves her house, she is, in fact, a highly skilled hacker who takes on commissions using her abilities, becoming a NEET detective. Through circumstances, Nagumi becomes Alice's assistant and helps investigate the case. Can this inconspicuous ordinary high school student play a role in the NEET detective group? What bonds will Nagumi, who once avoided too much interaction with others, form with Alice and the NEET members?
