The story takes place in a school called Seisen Academy, which is divided into two parts: a boys' school and a girls' school. The girls' division maintains a serious and traditional academic atmosphere, while the boys' division advocates enlightenment and innovation. Izuhato Yūri (voiced by Hino Satoshi) is an ordinary student in the boys' division, and at the same time, his father is the head of the Yahachi Shrine. One day, during renovations, a site with strange inscriptions is uncovered on the school playground; although the school authorities believe it lacks archaeological value and plan to continue construction, Yūri senses something unusual about it. At night, Yūri secretly sneaks onto the campus and performs a ritual at the site, soon after which a spirit appears before him. He names this girl, who has fox ears and a tail, Mashiro (voiced by Chikamura Nariko).
