The story takes place in Tokyo in 2018, where magic has gained social recognition and become part of everyday life. Magicians have integrated into human society and are no longer seen as frightening outsiders. However, crimes committed using magic are on the rise, and when a magician is arrested, the lawyers defending them are referred to as "Magician Defenders." The Butterfly Law Firm boasts some of the best and most upright magician defenders in the industry. The young and promising Sudo Seichi (voiced by Rui Tanabe), who values the rule of law and discipline, the cool and warm-hearted Hotaru Kanaka (voiced by Kei Mandou), and the cheerful yet somewhat frivolous Zahan I (voiced by Rumi Okubo).
