Ayazuki Mei (voiced by Kobayashi Yu) is an ordinary high school girl who, by chance, encounters a mysterious man who claims to be a magician. Through a series of events, Ayazuki Mei unexpectedly travels back to the Meiji era and inadvertently ends up at the Rikkyokan. Here, Ayazuki Mei meets the famous literary figures whose names she has only seen in books — the sensitive and eccentric Izumi Kyoka (voiced by Okamoto Nobuhiko), the highly intelligent and eccentric Mori Ogai (voiced by Namikawa Daisuke), the introverted and taciturn Hishida Shunsou (voiced by KENN), and the gentle and polite Kawakami Otojiro (voiced by Toriumi Kousuke).
