For a long time, Ryuji (voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki) has lived alone. On the surface, Ryuji appears cold and unfriendly, but in reality, he is very skilled at handling household chores and possesses a soft heart. One day, Ryuji is no longer alone, as an additional "companion" unexpectedly appears: a mermaid named Wakasa (voiced by Yuichiro Umehara) who resides in his bathtub. Since Ryuji's arrival, peculiar ocean creatures such as the pessimistic and myopic Shell Makoto (voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda), the uninvited jellyfish Mikuni (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), the handy octopus Eikou (voiced by Tatsuhisa Suzuki), and the two-faced shark Angari have started appearing one after another in Ryuji's life.
