Detailed introduction

This film (drama)Also known as旅の重さ,is aJapanProducerwomen sex,At1972Released in year 。The dialogue language isJapanese,Current Douban rating7.6(For reference only)。
A 16-year-old girl is extremely tired of her school and family life, so she chooses to run away from home. She meets a pervert on the island of Uwajima and encounters a traveling art troupe, even joining their ranks for a time. However, not long after, she sets off on her own again. The girl accidentally falls by the roadside, and a middle-aged man named Kimura, who makes a living selling fish, takes her to his home and carefully cares for her until she recovers safely. Gradually, the girl develops feelings for Kimura. After being arrested for gambling, Kimura is released, and that night the girl kisses him. Conflicted and crying, the girl walks home, but on the way hears about the suicide of a neighbor girl, Kayo. She doesn't find this particularly surprising; she thinks that if she hadn't run away, she might have ended up like that too. She returns to Kimura's home, and they embrace tightly, feeling an inexplicable sense of safety. Later, the girl marries Kimura and engages in the fish-selling business. In a letter to her mother, the girl writes: “I am satisfied with my current life; I believe this is my ideal way of living.” This film depicting a girl's runaway is quite commonplace, and the sights and experiences along the journey lack particularly appealing elements. The girl's active attraction to the middle-aged man is not very convincing, which may give viewers a sense of preconceived notions. However, director Koichi Saito, as a representative of Shochiku's promotion of youth dramas, insists on a consistent production style in this film while also possessing certain realistic significance. This film won the 4th place in the 1972 “Kinema Jumpo” top ten list, and director Koichi Saito also received the director award at the Daily Film Competition.
