Tetsurō (Yujiro Ishihara) and Aki (Makiko Watanabe) live together, but unlike ordinary couples, they have an open relationship and do not interfere in each other's private lives. Tetsurō has been through a failed marriage and has an 8-year-old son, Shunsuke (Hiroshi Furuya). His ex-wife unfortunately had an accident and is unable to care for the child, so Shunsuke comes to live with Tetsurō and Aki temporarily.
