Shin-ae (played by Jeon Do-yeon) arrives with her son in the hometown of her late husband—a small town called Miryang. She opens a piano academy there, hoping to seek a brand new life with her son, allowing him to grow up in the place where his father spent his childhood, experiencing the sunlight and warmth of Miryang. However, their car breaks down midway, and they are fortunate to meet Jong-chan (played by Song Kang-ho), the owner of an auto repair shop, who kindly helps Shin-ae find a place to live, attract clients, and customize a trophy. Yet, his excessive enthusiasm makes Shin-ae uncomfortable, and she is forced to candidly tell him to stop having any intentions toward her. One day, disaster strikes Shin-ae and her son, and she almost loses the courage to continue living until faith provides her with spiritual rescue. However, her soul does not remain at peace for long after turning to religion. Soon, Shin-ae falls into a self-contradictory split, turning against faith and retaliating. Throughout the entire process, only Jong-chan remains by her side until Shin-ae sees a glimmer of sunlight again.
