A lovely Labrador dog is chosen for guide dog training. To help it bond with humans, it is fostered by a couple. Due to a brown birthmark on its body resembling a flying seagull, it is named Xiao Q. The training is very tough, but Xiao Q becomes a guide dog and meets its first owner, Mr. Watanabe, who, however, has doubts. Just when things start to improve, Mr. Watanabe falls ill, and Xiao Q has to return to the training center.
