The blind swordsman Zatoichi (played by Takeshi Kitano) arrives in a small town. He has dyed blonde hair, possesses incredible skills, and strikes lethally. Hattori Genosuke (played by Tadanobu Asano) is a highly skilled swordsman who comes to the town to raise money for his wife’s (played by Yui Natsukawa) medical treatment, hoping to find work. Meanwhile, a pair of siblings (played by Yoko Dake and Daigorō Tachibana) disguised as geishas come to the town seeking revenge against local bullies, including Ginzō and the fan shop. After learning of their plight, the quick-tempered Zatoichi decides to help them avenge their parents’ murder, while Hattori becomes a bodyguard hired by the enemies, leading to an inevitable battle for survival.
