Based on the prison notes of gang leader Minoru Kōzō and the novel by author Akira Iiduka. Released from prison, Masaharu Yamanaka (played by Kinefukuda Kin'ichi) causes a conflict by dining and dashing, which leads him to meet the beautiful widow Yasuko (played by Meiko Kaji), and he becomes a member of the Murakawa group. Feeling dissatisfied with the peace negotiations between his faction and rivals, young executive Katsutoshi Ōtomo (played by Shinichi Chiba) of the rival Ōtomo Union establishes the Ōtomo group and launches a series of attacks against the Murakawa group. Yamanaka retaliates fiercely but ultimately ends up imprisoned for murder. The leader of the Murakawa group (played by Hiroshi Nagai) arranges for Yasuko to marry someone else; upon learning this, Yamanaka escapes from prison seeking revenge, but is cleverly deceived by Murakawa. Murakawa uses Yamanaka's guilt and loyalty, ordering him to hunt down Katsutoshi Ōtomo. Yamanaka embarks on a path of no return...
