In 1989, it was the Showa 64 year in Japan, but this year did not last long. With the emperor's passing, the brief Showa 64 year came to an end. During these limited seven days, a little girl was kidnapped in a certain place. The kidnappers demanded a huge ransom of 20 million yen and cleverly negotiated with the victim's family and law enforcement. Although the victim's father (Masatoshi Nagase) paid the ransom as agreed, the kidnappers brutally killed the girl.
