The movie "Yes, I Can't Swim" is adapted from the work of Takahashi Hidemitsu. The protagonist, played by Hasegawa Hiroki, is a stubborn philosopher Kotoha Yoshiji, who is terrified of water and cannot swim at all, yet constantly makes excuses to avoid it. Ayase Haruka plays the quirky coach Usuhara Shizuka, who is very enthusiastic about teaching swimming but clumsy in other aspects. Yoshiji is a university philosophy professor who fears water and has never learned to swim. One day, he avoids situations involving water and resists joining Shizuka's swimming class, where he is surrounded by lively housewives. Shizuka says, "It's easier to live in water than on land," while Yoshiji, overcoming his fear of water, continues to attend classes despite causing a scene. For a specific reason related to his fear of water, Yoshiji begins a tentative journey.
