Aiko (played by Sakura Ando), who has long passed the age of thirty, spends her days in boredom. She has no interest in helping manage her family’s restaurant and instead spends her time playing games and bullying her little nephew. Her sister Misako (played by Saori), returns to their parents' home after her divorce and is highly disapproving of Aiko’s behavior, leading to physical confrontations between the two sisters. Feeling alienated from her family, Aiko moves out and secures a cashier job at a hundred yen store that she frequently visits. This small store is filled with many odd characters, including a depressed manager, a loquacious and sleazy colleague, and an elderly woman who was fired for theft but still comes back for near-expired food. Among these people, Aiko's mood becomes increasingly gloomy. By chance, she ends up with an unknown boxer, Kanao (played by Hirofumi Arai), but their relationship doesn’t even qualify as love. Extremely repressed, Aiko chooses to learn boxing; she longs to release her grievances and dissatisfaction, yearning for at least one moment of recognition. This film won the 8th place in the Top Ten Japanese Films of 2014 by Kinema Junpo.
