Directed by Sean Baker of "The Florida Project" and "Tangerine," his new film has been picked up by A24. The black comedy "Red Rocket" tells the story of adult film star Mikey Saber, who lives a carefree life relying on women but finds his career in ruins. He then returns to his hometown in Texas, where his estranged wife and mother-in-law live, and no one truly welcomes him back. After some effort to mend ties with the two women, the family seems to be improving, but then Mikey encounters a young cashier named Strawberry at a local donut shop, and his old habits resurface. Starring Simon Rex/Dirt Nasty ("Scary Movie"), Bree Elrod ("Shutter Island"), and Suzanna Son. The film has completed shooting and is in post-production, with A24 handling North American distribution.
