The melancholic blonde boy "Kara" (played by Matthias Schweighöfer) is a professional paramedic dedicated to saving lives. He is kind and sensitive, always a lone wolf. The prominent scar on his face serves as an indelible reminder of the serious car accident that occurred when he was seven years old. The accident caused Kara to lose all of his family members, leaving him with a permanent pain. In his rescue work, he often feels guilt and sorrow for the lives he couldn’t save, until he meets a pregnant woman named "November" (played by Jessica Schwarz) during an unexpected rescue. She appears in Kara's dreams, opening her warm embrace to him. Soon, they fall in love, and November teaches Kara what true happiness is. However, while transporting November to the hospital to give birth, an unfortunate fate presents Kara with an unexpected ending. Directed by German emerging director Dirk Hohmann, the stunning work "The Last Heartbeat" has won multiple awards, including Best Newcomer Actor and Best Actress at the Bavaria Film Festival, as well as Audience Choice for Best Film at the Taipei Film Festival.
