Yawei (Miao QiaoweI) and his sister were warned by their mother from a young age: do not go to Nanyang! Although they did not know the reason, they obediently complied. While their mother was away, the sister wished to travel to Nanyang with friends. Yawei, unable to resist her repeated pleas, allowed her to disobey their mother but reminded her to wear the ancestral talisman. Unfortunately, she discarded the talisman in her suitcase because she thought it was too ugly while in Nanyang, and as a result, she was attacked by a swarm of centipedes, meeting a gruesome end. Yawei rushed to Nanyang to handle his sister's funeral, accompanied by his university classmate Yaqi (Li Dianlang). During the process, he was informed by a sorcerer that the demon king had set his sights on him and advised him to act cautiously while he pressed his mother for the reason why Nanyang was a forbidden place for their family. It turned out that Yawei’s grandfather had made a mistake in Nanyang when he was young, and the demon king vowed to take revenge, claiming "ancestors commit sins, descendants suffer." Yawei was unharmed because he always wore the ancestral talisman around his neck. The demon king, failing to capture him time and again, decided to target Yaqi.
