Edgin (played by Chris Pine) is a bard whose greed leads to the death of his wife during a treasure heist. Later, the barbarian Holga (played by Michelle Rodriguez) appears by the despondent Edgin's side, together raising his daughter Kira (played by Chloe Coleman). After Kira grows up, Edgin and Holga form a treasure-hunting team with Kira and her uncle Forge (played by Hugh Grant), but they face failure during one of their operations, leading to Edgin and Holga being imprisoned. Years pass, and Edgin and Holga team up to escape from prison and decide to reclaim the treasure they failed to obtain years ago. To achieve their goal, they also recruit rookie sorcerer Simon (played by Justice Smith) and druid girl Doric (played by Sophia Lillis). Just as Edgin and his team get closer to the treasure, Forge, who escaped with Kira back then, begins to reveal his true identity.
