Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) and his team have been tasked with retrieving three stolen nuclear weapons. Just as the mission is about to succeed, the three nuclear weapons are taken by someone in order to save the life of teammate Luther (played by Ving Rhames). CIA Director Ms. Sloan (played by Angela Bassett) sends her top agent Walker (played by Henry Cavill) to monitor Ethan Hunt as he completes the mission to recover the nuclear weapons. During this time, female agent Ilsa (played by Rebecca Ferguson) suddenly appears, and Ethan discovers that he is facing not only terrorists but also a mole within the government.
