In the German capital Berlin, a failed arms deal brings the confrontation between North and South Korean forces to a boiling point. North Korean ambassador Lee Hyuk-soo (played by Lee Kyung-young) and spy Yoo Jung-sung (played by Ha Jung-woo) discover that another cold-blooded spy from their homeland, Dong Myung-soo (played by Ryu Seung-bum), has appeared in Berlin. The political upheaval fills their hearts, long adrift overseas, with ominous premonitions. During this time, Jung-sung is forced to follow the party's orders to monitor his wife—the ambassador's close translator, Lim Jeong-hee (played by Jun Ji-hyun). Meanwhile, the South Korean intelligence agency head, Minister Kang (played by Han Seok-kyu), frustrated by setbacks in the arms deal investigation, relentlessly pursues Jung-sung's whereabouts. After the ambassador's defection plan fails, Jung-sung learns Dong Myung-soo's true purpose for coming to Berlin. To avoid becoming a victim and a target in the power struggle, he has no choice but to flee with his wife...
