A hurricane is ravaging New Orleans, and a critically ill elderly woman opens her sleepy eyes. The woman's name is Daisy (played by Cate Blanchett), and she asks her daughter Caroline (played by Julia Ormond) to read her a diary. The author of this diary is Benjamin Button (played by Brad Pitt). Benjamin was born at the end of World War I, but being born with the body of an elderly man, he was considered a monster by his father and abandoned in a nursing home. Benjamin lived there with the elderly residents. Little did anyone expect that Benjamin would age in reverse—growing younger as time goes by! While “growing younger” may be a dream for some, Benjamin, who actually experiences this, faces joys and troubles that others cannot understand. Through half a century of world changes, Benjamin finds himself feeling emotions that others cannot. Why does his mother want him to read this diary? What is the connection between Benjamin Button and his mother? Caroline is plunged into deep confusion and curiosity.
