The story takes place in the beautiful yet cold Alaska, where the arrival of a scouting team sent by Aegis Petroleum disrupts the peaceful lives of the local residents. The surface is dug up, noise and pollution fill the entire ice field, and soon, the local indigenous people develop intense conflicts with the development company. The indigenous people are disheartened to find that a government bought by interests stands on the side of the oil company.Taft (played by Steven Seagal) is a member of the scouting team. One day, he encounters an Eskimo girl named Masu (played by Cheng Chong), whose words and actions touch Taft and lead him to doubt and resent his employer's actions. In pursuit of greater profits, the company president Michael (played by Michael Caine) decides to ignore ecological destruction and expand the mining area. However, the turncoat Taft undoubtedly becomes a stumbling block in the execution of his plot, prompting Michael to send assassins to eliminate Taft swiftly.
