After a paragliding accident, wealthy white man Philippe (François Cluzet) becomes paralyzed and seeks to hire a full-time caregiver. Due to the high salary, many applicants flock to the position, all articulate and charming, but none manage to touch his heart. It isn't until the arrival of Driss (Omar Sy), a black man freshly released from prison, that Philippe makes his decision. Driss, burdened with family responsibilities, is primarily looking for a way to obtain a dismissal letter to claim unemployment benefits and shows much more interest in the female assistant than the job itself. Nevertheless, Philippe is drawn to this young man. Thus, Driss begins a one-month trial period. While the comfortable mansion environment makes him feel vain, he faces many challenges: not only does he need to assist Philippe with physical rehabilitation, but he also has to help with bathing, enemas, opening mail, and putting on stockings. Initially, their ways of thinking and values are vastly different, but as they get to know each other better, they become friends... This film is based on a true story and received the Golden Pansy Award for Best Film at the 2011 Tokyo Film Festival, with François Cluzet and Omar Sy sharing the Best Actor title.
