This film is based on true events. It tells the story of Adam, a young American soldier deployed to Afghanistan during the U.S. invasion, who, in his youthful arrogance, meets the strong and upright Sergeant Dix and quickly comes to see him as a brother and role model. However, Adam later discovers that Dix is instructing his men to kill innocent locals. Conscience-stricken, Adam considers reporting their actions to superiors but is threatened by his comrades. Dix’s fully armed and increasingly violent squad begins to suspect that someone in their midst is betraying them. Sergeant Dix forces Adam to kill a civilian, or he will be killed. Adam faces a painful choice: should he protect himself or find a way to speak the truth?
