"The Fish with a Human Face: The Legend of the Girl in Red" is adapted from the Taiwanese folklore "The Fish with a Human Face." In the 1990s, someone fishing in Gangshan Township, Kaohsiung County (now Gangshan District, Kaohsiung City), caught a tilapia and, while grilling it, heard a strange voice asking, "Does the fish taste good?" Later, in the photos taken, a human face appeared on the fish, which horrified the person involved. However, there are many doubts about the incident, and it is considered an unfounded rumor.
