The film is adapted from the classic Hollywood romantic comedy of the same name. Gu Jia (played by Shu Qi) is the new editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine in China, tasked with attending Fashion Week in Milan. An unexpected phone call prompts her to abandon her work arrangements and fly to London as soon as she lands. This is because the man she once ran away from but secretly loves, Lin Ran (played by Feng Shaofeng), is about to marry a young rich girl, Xuan Xuan (played by Song Qian). She wants to win back the groom before the wedding. On the flight to London, Gu Jia encounters the handsome Nick (played by Feng Xiaoyue), and she keeps embarrassing herself, making Nick feel very awkward. Upon meeting, Lin Ran's fiancée Xuan Xuan treats her like a sister. Despite her internal conflict, Gu Jia inadvertently creates trouble, and due to a misunderstanding, the wedding cannot be held in the UK as scheduled.
