A female writer (played by Yūko Takeuchi) who dabbles in genres from light novels to horror stories has been invited to write short ghost tales for a magazine over the past six months. Her stories are based on personal experiences submitted by readers, one of which draws her into an unimaginable abyss of terror. A girl (played by Ai Hashimoto) once rented an apartment but often heard the sound of clothing rubbing against tatami mats. The writer investigates and discovers that not only the girl's room but also other rooms in the entire apartment have experienced strange incidents. Along with her writer friend Yoshimi Hiraoka (played by Kōnosuke Sasaki), paranormal enthusiast Tetsuo Mizawa (played by Kentarō Sakaguchi), and her husband Naoto (played by Kenichi Takitō), they relentlessly pursue the mystery, even tracing it back over a hundred years, ultimately uncovering the source of a series of terrifying events that occurred on the land… This film is adapted from "Filth," an original work by Fuyumi Ono, the author of "The Twelve Kingdoms."
