The Vampires, led by Viktor (played by Bill Nighy), operate independently, with a powerful vampire army suppressing the brutal Lycans, who are highly contagious and cannot evolve into humans. Until one day, a miraculous being is born, changing the fate of both families. A female wolf gives birth to Lucian (played by Michael Sheen), a Lycan with a human appearance. Viktor sees the immense power within Lucian and begins to breed him extensively, making the Lycans slaves to serve the Vampires. The suffering of the slaves seems endless, and during this process, Lucian secretly falls in love with Viktor's daughter, Sonja (played by Rhona Mitra). Desiring freedom, Lucian ultimately manages to break Viktor's hold over him, and thus begins the war between the Lycans and Vampires that lasts for centuries...
