Luma Road, a bustling street in downtown Wuhan. An old telephone booth and a makeshift fruit stand on the sidewalk serve as the livelihood for Wang Tiancheng's family from Henan. For the past fourteen years, they have been in a push-and-pull with the urban management, becoming a true "market stall king," managing to settle in the city. Wang Tiancheng is a 70-year-old stroke patient, and his wife is in the late stages of cancer. Their son is a disabled person without a right hand, and their only source of joy is their granddaughter Pingping, who is in middle school and healthy and cheerful. "The whole family stays in the city, and Pingping becomes a Wuhan resident" is the dream of the entire family, and life is tough yet ordinary. Until one day, Luma Road is set to develop into a "Jewelry Street" according to city development plans, requiring all street vendors to be completely cleared. The conflicts between Wang Tiancheng's family and the urban management team begin to escalate, leading to a "survival defense war"... Will strict law enforcement by urban management crush the street vendors? Or will the strongest "market stall king" secure a place in the city center? This is an original ecological story of the life-and-death struggle between urban management and street vendors, depicting the real interactions and conflicts between officials and citizens. It reflects the burgeoning "urban dream" of contemporary Chinese people; you, I, and he could all be "Wang Tiancheng."
