The film is adapted from Dodie Smith's novel and is set in 1970s London during the punk rock revolution. It tells the story of a young con artist named Estella (played by Emma Stone). Estella is a smart and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of thieves who appreciate her mischievous nature, and together they manage to build their lives on the streets of London. One day, Estella's fashion sense catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman (played by Emma Thompson), a legendary figure in the fashion world known for her devastating style and terrifying elegance. However, their relationship triggers a series of events that lead Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the unapologetically stylish and vengeful Cruella.
