Brave and skilled warrior Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) is revered as the heir to the throne of Asgard, the Eternal Realm. However, due to a reckless act that almost ignited an ancient war, he is banished to Earth by his father, the god Odin (played by Anthony Hopkins). On Earth, Thor meets the beautiful scientist Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) and her colleagues. With their help, Thor finds the enchanted hammer Mjolnir that has also been cast out with him, but it no longer belongs to him. Meanwhile, Thor’s brother Loki plots to become the king of Asgard by teaming up with the Frost Giants, attempting to plunge the Eternal Realm into chaos. To uphold the laws of the Eternal Realm, Thor’s four friends come to Earth and decide to bring him back. At this point, to prevent Thor's return, Loki sends a giant to kill him. Stripped of his powers and about to lose his friends and innocent humans, Thor sacrifices his life. His death breaks the spell of the gods, reviving Thor who regains his powers and defeats the giant. Now, with Odin's life at stake, Thor must return to the Eternal Realm with his friends to maintain the laws there... This film is adapted from the comic series "Thor" launched in 1962 by legendary comic creator partners Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
