Ethan Coen will solo direct a female road movie, co-writing and producing with his wife Tricia Cooke, with Focus Features and Working Title as production companies. The film currently has no title; in fact, Ethan and Cooke wrote an earlier draft over a decade ago titled "Drive-Away Dykes," which was an action/sex/comedy in the style of Ross Meyers (known for "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "The Fox"). At the time, it was intended for Allison Anders to direct, with Ethan only producing, but now it seems he has decided to take it on himself. The story follows a party girl and her conservative friend on a journey from Philadelphia to Miami, encountering not only bar-hopping, but also a severed head in a suitcase, a spiteful ex-girlfriend, a mysterious travel case, and an evil senator.
