In 1949, Old Zhao, who retreated to Taiwan with the Nationalist Party, remained single for a lifetime due to a marriage ban. His roommate and comrade, Old Feng, has passed away. After death, a person is merely dust; Old Feng's tall body, measuring 1.8 meters, was cremated and placed in an urn no bigger than a wine jar. Old Zhao, still alive, is not much happier; he continues to survive in a military dormitory no larger than four ping. The village chief, following Old Feng’s will, came to the military dormitory to sort out his belongings, intending to take Old Feng's ashes back to their hometown across the strait in a few days. However, stubborn Old Zhao insisted that the village chief let Old Feng stay, wanting just one more day of companionship with his old brother, as Old Zhao wished to reminisce with Old Feng. Unable to argue with Old Zhao, the village chief allowed Old Feng to remain. After having a few rounds of drinks, Old Zhao suddenly recalled joyful memories with the lively Ah Feng. Therefore, Old Zhao decided to take Old Feng to say goodbye to Ah Feng and embarked on a journey seeking the last warmth of life.
