During his student days, Sumiya Noboru (played by Ueno Seiyo) stood out as an excellent American football player, but after retiring due to injury, he became an ordinary salaryman in a Tokyo company. The boring and frustrating workplace interactions and the lukewarm relationship with his girlfriend left him feeling distressed. After that, he adopted the nickname "Haru" and logged onto a movie message board seeking like-minded individuals. The board was filled with movie enthusiasts, and Sumiya found himself enjoying conversations with a stranger using the name "Hoshi." Before long, they began private messaging, discussing everything from movies to love, career, and life. Hoshi's true identity is Fujima Mitsue (played by Fukatsu Eri), a girl living in Morioka, whose past heartbreak in love has prevented her from moving forward. She keeps changing jobs like a bird unable to find a home. Through their emails, Haru and Hoshi become emotionally connected and intrigued by each other, forming an intimate friendship never seen before in the era of virtual connections. Their topics become increasingly profound, seemingly perfect until an unexpected situation arises, putting their trust to an unprecedented test…The film was awarded 4th place in the 70th Japan Film Monthly's Top Ten Films.
