On the bustling streets of Central, a sudden explosion is heard as a gang led by Tian Yangsheng (played by Wu Jing) openly robs a cash truck containing one hundred million dollars. Many innocent people are injured or killed, including the fiancée of police officer Chen Jin (played by Edison Chen). From then on, Chen Jin vows to hunt down Tian Yangsheng for revenge, but both Tian Yangsheng and the hundred million dollars vanish without a trace. Six months later, probationary inspector Fang Yiwei (played by Shawn Yue) and his team are ambushed while intercepting vehicles, leaving all team members severely injured; it turns out Tian Yangsheng's gang has reemerged. Senior superintendent Cheung Man-yeung (played by Lam Ka-tung) and Lo Pui-kwan (played by Zheng Haonan) collaborate to plan a series of operations, determined to apprehend the gang. The brother of patrol officer Wai King-ho (played by Jaycee Chan) is an undercover agent infiltrating Tian Yangsheng's group, but due to his identity, he is temporarily suspended and thinks about clearing his brother's name.
