Jack (Himesh Patel) is an unknown singer who is not believed by anyone, except for his friend Ellie (Lily James), to be capable of becoming famous. In an accident, Jack is shocked to find himself transported to a parallel world where The Beatles never existed, which means he is the only person in this world who knows about the band and has heard their music. Therefore, Jack starts performing The Beatles' songs and claims them as his own. Unsurprisingly, the songs of the greatest band in history quickly bring Jack fame and fortune, making him the hottest music creator in the world at that time. However, after the initial excitement fades, Jack realizes that he can no longer create his own music and has become a poor copycat, which is clearly not the result he wanted. Thus, Jack begins to find a way to return to the normal world.
