As night falls, Max (Jamie Foxx) receives a guest who is destined to change his life—Vincent (Tom Cruise). Vincent is hired by a multinational drug cartel and comes to Los Angeles that night to eliminate five key witnesses. Unlike the usual killers we see, he is naturally talkative, and as he forces Max to assist him in his murderous tasks, he insists, "I'm not the Rwandan genocide; I'm not a good person to begin with.
