Dawn (played by Heather Matarazzo) is a very ordinary teenage girl, plain in appearance and with no remarkable talents, easily disappearing in a crowd. Dawn has always felt incredibly unlucky, with her parents focused on work and her exceptional older siblings, leaving her neglected, while her siblings feel embarrassed to have such an ordinary sister and treat her coldly. After finally finding a boy she likes, she bravely confesses her feelings only to be met with a harsh rejection. Meanwhile, it seems everyone around her is happier than she is. After enduring enough, Dawn decides to run away from home, believing that the outside world might be much better. But is it really so?
