Based on a true story, it is the most flawed bank robbery in American history. This should have been a 10-minute bank robbery, but it turned into a 12-hour standoff. Sonny (played by Al Pacino) is arguably the unluckiest bank robber in American history. One summer afternoon, Sonny and his accomplice Sal (played by John Cazale) burst into a bank in Brooklyn, New York, ready to execute the robbery. Unfortunately, the bank had just completed a transaction, and there was no cash in the vault. The unlucky Sonny and Sal then resorted to taking hostages, facing off against the police with their demands. However, 4 hours later, the crime scene was turned into a chaotic spectacle with a crowd of onlookers and frantic police. Sonny walked out of the bank and surprisingly received cheers from the crowd in response to the police questioning him. After 8 hours, the bank robbery made it onto live television, and everyone seemed to be enjoying it as if it were a movie. As night fell, the hostages began to exhibit Stockholm syndrome. How will this farce come to an end?
