Since being placed by their mother at the entrance of a convenience store as babies, Jay (played by Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (played by Kevin Smith) have had a long-standing connection with the store. However, the owner can't tolerate their constant loitering outside and calls the police to have them kicked out. Their bad luck isn't over, as a movie based on their comic book characters is about to start filming, and not only have they received no money from the production, but the internet is filled with insults and mockery about them. Angered, the duo decides to travel from New Jersey to Hollywood to stop the film's production. Along the way, they hitch a ride with four beautiful women, including animal rights activist Jayst, whom Jay becomes infatuated with. He promises to help steal a gorilla that is being used for experiments, only to find out that the four women are actually jewel thieves. After they escape with the gorilla, Jay and Silent Bob are labeled as terrorists by the police. With one red-haired gorilla in tow, the two continue their journey to Hollywood despite being surrounded by law enforcement...
